Seizing Your Destiny

INTRODUCTION:

Nobody really has control of their own destiny o life buy them self. Even the most 'self- sufficient' people are dependent on the results of the choices they have made in life.
People may think they are in control, but eventually these 'controllers' will show that, whether you like it or not, they have the power over you.
I. Who's (what's) controlling your destiny?
We have difference type of controlling.
1. Nice controllers.
This are good things like family responsibilities, a good job, reputation, money,  achievements, body-building,  religion etc.
These passions and priorities need to given their right place in our lives and we need to make careful choices about how we manage these good things.
2. Controllers ugly:
We are easily tricked into believing something will be right or beneficial to us, or even that it 'won't hurt'.
Consider how the things that 'seduce' us into relying on them become our ruin:
Drugs – make you feel good, maybe gains you certain 'respect' from people whose opinion is important to you, But your dependency increases, and your freedom begins to turn into pressures, threats, illegal activities, deteriorating physical / mental / emotional health
Sex – makes you feel very good. But sex loses its beauty when its not honourable; you crave it, but it's no longer 'good sex' – it's just a drive. There's little possibility of love or happiness, and it will probably lead to sexual diseases – which are very hard to cure.
Hate – gives you a feeling of power, revenge, and control. But hate dominates your personality  less ability to be happy in anything
Money – the power to spend and have what we want. But the fun of having money doesn't last long – millionaires are frequently very lonely people – they attract lots of 'false friends'.
3. Controllers of medium term  - Rewards decrease and consequences increase
4. Controllers Short term  - Rewards seem pretty good; and short term consequences are rather small.
5. Controllers of long term: HIV, Cancer, Addiction, etc.

II. You have the choice – to make a better choice for your life.
The Bible tells us that we can have a better life that allows you to enjoy your existence, have satisfying relationships and have a sense of personal worth and accomplishment.
God loves you and wants you to be His own – He has a plan to give you a life that is worthy of a person who belongs to Him.
Even if you have already made serious mistakes, God offers to remove the penalty of your sin and give you a new life
He is 100% reliable to do what He promised.
It your are 100%  willing
He will give you a life with purpose and meaning
You will have a friend to help you deal with problems and choices
A 'promise' to ensure that you will live a joyful life after you leave this earth

III. How do you make the 'transfer'?
Look the explanation in Romans 10:8-11 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed
You must put your faith in it and say with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord." Believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead. Then you will be saved.
Scripture says, "The one who trusts in him will never be put to shame."
Are you be willing to recognize that God is 100% trustworthy.
HOW TO MAKE THE TRANSFER
Step 1 – Tell God you are willing to accept His way – God's way is Jesus Christ, who is willing to take the guilt for your wrongs.
Step 2 – Begin your faith journey, say with your mouth that Jesus is Lord.
Step 3 - Believe that Jesus rose above death to conquer sin; ask Jesus to be save you from your sin and make you right with God.
Step 4 - Trust Him to help you to give up the “old way of life and to be there in every part of your life
Paso 5 – Praye – Recogzing the need.
